How Laser Therapy can help your Equine Companion

The benefits of Laser Therapy on your horses muscular system include, but are not limited to, the following:

     1. Increases the supply of blood/nutrients to muscles.

     2. Removes inflammation.

     3. Accelerated tissue repair and cell growth.

     4. Accelerated fracture healing.

     5. Improved vascular activity.

     6. Reduced fibrous tissue formation.

     7. Reduced proud flesh formation.

     8. Improved nerve function.

     9. Analgesic effect / reduces pain.

Each horse is an individual, therefore each treatment is tailored to suit your horse's immediate and long term needs.

Activity levels, ages and conditions are all taken into account and treatments are adjusted to achieve optimum health for your horse.

Small injuries can manifest into something more sinister, it is important to treat the problem before this happens.

Equine Laser Therapy applies treatment to your horse to overcome muscular injuries, increase range of motion, help to alleviate pain related to joint problems, relieve muscle aches and pains of elderly horses, and also help recovery in post-operative care and rehabilitation.

Previous laser therapy used in horses comprised of low level lasers which proved ineffective due to low wattage output which meant minimal results for the amount of time needed to treat.

New class IV lasers are the latest laser technology and are scientifically backed by a team of veterinary experts in the equine field. Results are proven effective with much shorter treatment times.

ABOUT

ME

IMG_3351.jpg

I have been a horse lover since l was a little girl, growing up in rural New Zealand I spent a lot of my childhood around horses, riding and attending pony club from a young age.

It had always been my dream to work with animals but l never found that particular area l wanted to work within until l found massage and laser therapy.

So how did my journey into Equine Laser Therapy start?

I have been a German Shepherd Dog breeder and handler for over 20 years, including many specialist Gold Medal winners and Best In Show winners but above all the show accolades I have taken pride in the fact I have bred sound temperament and quality family pets.

I was extremely fortunate to be offered a one on one mentorship by a world renowned leader in the field of Canine Massage, Denise Theobald, owner of Chicago School of Canine Massage.
I traveled to Chicago and undertook an intensive advanced mentorship to allow me to learn the most in-depth and current techniques available.
This lead me to learning about laser therapy and how this can work in conjunction with my massage therapy training.

I then realised how widely Laser Therapy was being used in the Equine community in America, not just pets but performance horses as well.

As an avid horse lover and a racehorse owner I noticed a great need for Laser Therapy in the Equine world in Australia as the current Lasers are so much more technologically advanced than the previous lasers used to treat horses.

Laser Therapy is still a highly under-rated treatment in both New Zealand/Australia as it is still in it's infancy, as opposed to America where it is widely used in Veterinary Practices and Equine Treatment.
